Heath Tecna’s Aftermarket Services group often provides overhaul services to repair and refresh aircraft lavatories. Besides maintaining the monuments, this can include anything from replacing rotten sections of panel core, to installing new decorative, as well as treating and painting interior surfaces. Corroded structural parts and other component issues are addressed when necessary to make the units fully functional again.
On one such program, we worked with ATS (Aviation Technical Services) in Everett, Washington to service Rumbold lavatories for an Alaska Airlines program. Considering our excellent performance on that job, our 145 Repair Station was happy to get a call from the MRO again when they needed a partner to overhaul several shipsets of B767-300 lavatories for a Hawaiian Airlines program.
The ATS project consisted of overhauling six lavatories per shipset for a total of two aircraft. Work consisted of removing worn out decorative from the lavatories and installing BFE tedlar according to Hawaiian Airlines’ EO (Engineering Orders). Panel walls and other lavatory components were also repaired or replaced as needed to return lavatories to a serviceable condition. When the program was complete, each lavatory was delivered with an 8130-3, which included lavatory specific support documentation.
