Airlines want to provide passengers with a well lit atmosphere to relax in during the flight. They also want to reduce maintenance time and costs for their aircraft. One way to address both issues is to install LED lighting into an aircraft when it is reconfigured. LED light fixtures last longer than incandescent lighting, have less impact on the temperature of the aircraft, and draw less electricity, which saves aircraft operators money. The color temperature of the white light can also be made to be slightly cooler, softer, or warmer, depending on the customer's preference. Some full color LED fixtures can also be programmed to change colors in the aircraft, which allows an airline to set a mood for a particular part of the flight.
