Heath Tecna operates a full-service laboratory on-site, in a modern environmentally controlled work area. The technicians and equipment are capable of supporting the most stringent test requirements. All technicians are highly trained and a FAA DER (Designated Engineering Representative) is available to support certification testing. The lab performs flammability, mechanical, and physical property testing to validate the materials we use in our products. In addition to utilizing the laboratory for Heath Tecna programs, the lab offers contract flammability testing to the aerospace industry as well. Flammability test activities within the lab are FAA approved, and the data produced during testing is used in FAA Type Certification projects. Flammability tests that the technicians often perform on test coupons include:

• Ignition: 14 CFR/CS 25.853(a) Appendix F, Part I
• OSU Heat Release: 14 CFR/CS 25.853(d) Appendix F, Part IV
• Smoke Density: 14 CFR/CS 25.853(d) Appendix F, Part V
• Toxicity: ABD 0031 (Airbus requirement)
